Organic Stores

Does anyone know of any sites or stores that sell cheap Organic Clothing?
Does anyone know of any sites or stores that sell cheap organic clothing. I would love to start buying more organic clothing but I just cant bring myself to pay $40 for a simple T-shirt. Any suggestions
I’m finding more and more items in mainstream dept. stores. Target had a line last fall that was made with organic cotton with plant dyes. Walmart had some t’shirts made with a recycled poly/cotton blend.
Unfortunately I know of a lot of retailers that sell eco sensitive clothing like organic cotton and they are all a bit pricey. I have reduced the number of items I buy, so my clothing budget is about the same, I’m just buying fewer more expensive items. It helps that I have a color scheme so I can put together more combos with fewer items.

Bioavailability of sediment phosphorus in geochemically contrasting aquatic systems. $49.99 Excess amounts of bioavailable inorganic phosphorus (BAPi) can lead to a host of deleterious effects including eutrophication of water bodies. As phosphorus (P) often limits primary production in freshwater ecosystems, I examined the changes in bioavailability of sediment bound P as it was stored, transformed, transported, and released in various aquatic systems including an agricultural stream system, a wetland complex, and four geochemically distinct lakes.;Large stores of BAPi were present in stream sediments, but amounts varied with depositional environment, total P concentrations, and iron (Fe) concentrations. BAPi was stable in streambed sediments while post-depositional mineralization of organic P resulted in an increase in the BAPi fraction. The most important factors that influenced dissolved and particulate BAPi transport through the wetland complex during runoff events were extent of wetland inundation (r2 = 0.87), rainfall amount (r2 = 0.42), and rainfall maximum intensity (r2 = 0.37). The wetland was an overall sink for dissolved BAP i and source of particulate BAPi, but BAPi storage varied widely among individual events, ranging from 5% to -64%.;Interactions between P and Fe appeared to influence internal loading in the four lakes. The lake with the highest P loading (Lake Mendota) had the smallest Fe loading, while the lake with the lowest P loading (Sparkling Lake) had the largest Fe loading. Low P retention appeared to be associated with low Fe:P ratios in sediments and pore waters, while high P retention appeared to be associated with high Fe:P ratios. Fe(II) binding by carbonate and sulfide decreased pore water concentrations of Fe and availability of Fe for P scavenging during turnover.;Both geochemical and hydrodynamic controls on BAPi accumulation and transport should be considered when attempting to decrease loadings of P from streams to downstream waters or internal loadings of P in lakes. BAP i is conserved during storage in sediments, thus |

Excerpt: The Beatrice Foods Company was a major American food processing company and household name. Its smaller international food operations were sold to Reginald Lewis, a corporate attorney creating TLC Beatrice International in 1987. The majority of its domestic (U.S.) brands and assets were acquired by Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts (KKR), with the bulk of the holdings sold off. By the early 1990s, the remaining operations were ultimately acquired by ConAgra Foods. The Beatrice Creamery Company was founded in 1894 by George Everett Haskell and William W. Bosworth, by leasing the factory of a bankrupt firm of the same name located in Beatrice, Nebraska. At the time, they purchased butter, milk and eggs from local farmers and graded them for resale. They promptly began separating the butter themselves at their plant, making their own butter on site and packaging and distributing it under their own label. They devised special protective packages and distributed them to grocery stores and restaurants in their own wagons and through appointed jobbers. To |

Humanure $58.99 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! “Humanure” is a neologism designating human excrement (feces and urine) that is recycled via composting for agricultural or other purposes. The term was popularized by a 1994 book by Joseph Jenkins that advocates the use of this organic soil amendment. Humanure is not traditional sewage that has been processed by waste-treatment facilities, which may include waste from industrial and other sources; rather, it is the combination of feces and urine with paper and additional carbon material (such as sawdust). A humanure system, such as a composting toilet does not require water or electricity, and when properly managed does not smell. By disposing of feces and urine through composting, the nutrients contained in them are returned to the soil. This aids in preventing soil degradation. Human fecal matter and urine have high percentages of nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, carbon, and calcium. It is equal to many fertilizers and manures purchased in garden stores. Humanure aids in the conservation of fresh water by avoiding the usage of potable water required by the typical flush toilet. |

New Green Home Solutions $14.99 Green living begins at home, and New Green Home Solutions tells you how. Most of the energy-derived pollution we produce comes as a direct result of our homes – how we heat them, how we cool them, how we keep them well-lit and full of things that make our lives so comfortable. The good news is that we have tremendous power to create change. Renewable energy design, better insulation and more efficient appliances could reduce energy demands by 60 to 80 percent. By embracing conservation and renewable energy, we can win our energy independence and help save the planet. Dave Bonta, president and founder of USA Solar Stores, the largest alternative energy retailer in the Northeast, has written about alternative energy and sustainable living for Green Living, Back Home Magazine, Alternative Energy Retailer and The Vermont Guardian. Bonta has studied renewable energy and energy efficiency for more than twenty years, is a frequent speaker at major green energy conferences across America and is a tireless advocate for green living. Also president of BioQuantum, Inc., a bio-fuels company, Bonta is the creator of BackHome chapters in America and is president of a renewable energy community organization, The Sustainable Valley Group. Stephen Snyder, communications director for USA Solar Stores, left New York City in 1995 to start an organic herb farm in Vermont with his wife, Melissa. He holds a degree in radio, television and motion picture communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has broad experience in communications, public affairs, and media relations. He also works as a freelance writer and has published The Brewmaster’s Bible (HarperCollins), The BeerCompanion (Simon & Schuster) and The Brewmaster’s Recipe Manual. |

Price Look-Up Code $56.56 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Price Look-Up codes, commonly called PLU codes, PLU numbers, PLUs, produce codes, or produce labels, are identification numbers affixed to produce and other products in grocery stores and supermarkets to make check-out and inventory control easier, faster, and more accurate. The code is usually a four-digit number, currently in the 3000-4999 range, identifying the type of bulk produce, including the variety. A fifth digit may be prefixed to the number to indicate if the produce is organic (prefixed by a ’9′) or genetically modified (prefixed by an ’8′). The codes have been in use since 1990, and there are over 1300 universal PLU codes assigned as of 2008. Use of PLU codes eliminates the need for grocery store checkers to identify each variety of produce visually. This advantage is especially important with the growth of the organic produce market; organic and conventional oranges, for example, may look the same but have very different prices. |
